Why do establishments require advice?

EVASSA provides a framework and guidance that is up to date with the latest thinking and practice. Schools can be assured they are following guidance that is in line with current nationally-recognised good practice and by doing so, are ensuring their arrangements are similarly robust – rather than working in isolation. This will release staff to inspire young people, as they would wish to do, confident in the knowledge that their preparations include all that is deemed reasonable.

Why use EVASSA?

EVASSA shares the knowledge of sector professionals, who keep fully informed of the latest national developments. Our knowledge of nationally-recognised good practice, combined with many years of experience and expertise, provides up-to-date understanding and insight relating to the organisation and delivery of offsite visits and adventurous activities, which is not easy to find elsewhere.

Who is accountable?

We are accountable for our proven advice and guidance and carry our own professional indemnity cover, but establishments are still accountable (and liable) for any decisions taken in event of a critical incident.

What is the extent of the advice from EVASSA?

EVASSA  focuses on delivering offsite visit expertise. Establishments may face situations that require decisions involving legal, insurance and child protection issues, and we would advise establishments to seek proven advisers in these areas in such instances.

Why use the EVOLVE software?

As an Associate of eduFOCUS Ltd we are able to provide access to EVOLVE, the on-line system for the administration of offsite visits and activities, which is currently used by over 18,000 establishments across more than 100 Local Authorities.  EVOLVE is a highly effective and user-friendly system which facilitates the planning, approval and monitoring processes for schools involved in outdoor learning .

Do all five services listed on the Home page come as a package or are they available separately?

Ideally we would welcome working in partnership with schools with a complete service. However, we are keen to help, and some schools who have already bought EVOLVE may wish to contract advice and training separately.  Others may wish to book in-school training only.  All combinations are possible.
